Pratt & Whitney Expands India Presence with New Customer Service Center in Bengaluru

Pratt & Whitney Service Center Bengaluru: Bengaluru, India – July 17, 2024 – Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies Corporation (RTX), announced the opening of a new Customer Service Center in Bengaluru, India. The center will be part of Pratt & Whitney’s existing India Capability Center and will focus on providing customer service and operational support for Pratt & Whitney Canada’s 68,000 engines worldwide.

The new facility is expected to create over 150 jobs for aerospace engineers and experts who will contribute to a global customer service network. The center will be strategically co-located with Pratt & Whitney’s supply chain, engineering, and digital transformation centers in India.

“This new Customer Service Center allows us to leverage our existing investments in India and utilize the country’s talented workforce to further enhance our world-class products and services, ultimately providing an improved customer experience,” Nivine Kallab, vice president of Customer Programs for Pratt & Whitney Canada, said in a statement sent to Defence Star.

The center’s staff will offer a wide range of services, including maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) support, spare parts management, engine leasing, engine reliability analysis, and contract administration.

The center is expected to serve a diverse clientele, including Indian and international airlines, original equipment manufacturers, MRO service providers, regulatory bodies, and private aviation operators.

Pratt & Whitney Canada’s turboprop engines are a dominant force in India’s regional aviation sector. Major Indian airlines like IndiGo, Alliance Air, Fly91, and SpiceJet operate over 90 ATR-72, ATR-42, and DHC-8-400 aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney engines. Additionally, the company’s engines power the Indian Air Force’s C-295 aircraft.

With a workforce exceeding 6,000 employees across Pratt & Whitney and Collins Aerospace in India, RTX boasts one of the largest presences of any aerospace and defense company in the country.
