Dynamatic Technologies-IIT Kanpur MoU: Bengaluru-based defence manufacturer Dynamatic Technologies Limited signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with India’s top engineering institute, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K) for development of cutting edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for military use.
Both the organisations have identified strong mutual interest to leverage respective capabilities and undertake design, development, manufacturing of wide range of UAVs and other related technologies, said the company.
Dynamatic Technologies said the jointly developed products would substitute the currently imported UAVs with superior indigenous technology that would enable self-reliance at a reduced cost.
Dynamatic Tech, which recently delivered first front fuselage of India’s light combat aircraft LCA Tejas to HAL, said IIT Kanpur has been conducting cutting-edge research for defence and homeland security industries and have developed several technologies and filed multiple patents in areas related to UAVs development.

“To commercialise these technologies and put them to the service of the nation and to truly realise the dream of ‘Atmanirbharta’ (self-reliance in defence), IIT Kanpur has decided to partner with Dynamatic Technologies,” the company said.
Dynamatic is a global Tier 1 supplier to domestic original equipment manufacturers such as HAL, BEL and international defence and aerospace giants such as Airbus Boeing, Bell and is a global leader in manufacturing technologies, said the company.

The company is involved in R&D of latest technologies in the areas of Aerospace, Agriculture, Hydraulics and Homeland Security.
IIT Kanpur – Dynamatic Technologies MoU for UAVs
The MoU was signed by Dean of R&D, IIT Kanpur Prof. AR Harish and Arvind Mishra, ED & Global COO Dynamatic Hydraulics in the presence of Prof Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT Kanpur and Udayant Malhoutra, CEO & Managing Director, Dynamatic Technologies Ltd.

Prof. Karandikar called this collaboration with Dynamatic Technologies as an important development that would support the ongoing R&D activities at IIT Kanpur in the domain of Unmanned Systems and Robotics.
“It will enable rapid commercialisation of existing solutions for greater good of various users ranging from police, para-military and defence forces,” he said.

“This partnership between Dynamatic and IIT Kanpur is unique, as it brings Academia and Industry together to develop new products specific to customer requirement,” said Udayant Malhoutra, CEO and Managing Director of Dynamatic Technologies.
Malhoutra said the collaboration will fast track concept to development using the state-of-the-art facilities and resources available across IITK and Dynamatic.
