IAI’s REX MK-II Robot in European Land Robot Trial: Berlin, Germany – A joint venture between Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Germany’s FFG has secured the top prize for the best scientific solution at the European Land Robot Trial (ELROB). The companies’ REX MK-II unmanned land vehicle impressed judges with its off-road autonomous capabilities in challenging environments.

The competition, held in Trier, Germany, drew eighteen teams from around the world. The REX MK II stood out for its versatility, designed to support infantry troops in various combat scenarios. The robot can transport supplies, evacuate wounded personnel, and gather intelligence using advanced sensors.

“We are proud to have been awarded the Best Scientific Solution,” said Zvika Yarom, GM Land Division at IAI. “IAI and FFG have demonstrated superior combined knowledge of autonomous land robotic systems.”

The companies emphasize the importance of developing technologies that minimize risks to human soldiers. The REX MK II is seen as a significant step forward in this direction.

Military personnel from several NATO countries expressed interest in the REX MK II, signaling potential for future partnerships.
