India successfully test fired indigenously developed helicopter launched anti-tank guided missile called – Helina – or Helicopter borne Nag missile from an army helicopter in Pokhran range in western state of Rajasthan on Sunday.
The weapon system has been tested for its full range. India’s ministry of defence said the launch platform had tracked the target all through its course and hit the target with precision.
“All the parameters have been monitored by the telemetry stations, tracking systems and the Helicopters,” Ministry of Defence.
The missile is guided by an infrared image seeker operating in the ‘lock on before launch mode’.
Senior Indian military officials and scientists from the country’s nodal agency for development of weapons – DRDO were present during the flight test.
