India HAL Financial Result FY 2024-25: Bengaluru, India – Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a cornerstone of India’s defense manufacturing, has announced a provisional revenue of Rs 30,400 crore (approximately $3.648 billion USD) for the financial year 2024-25, demonstrating resilience amidst significant supply chain disruptions and operational setbacks.

This achievement, slightly surpassing the previous year’s Rs 30,381 crore (approximately $3.6457 billion USD), underscores HAL’s strategic adaptability and robust market position.

Despite facing challenges in the delivery of key platforms, including the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), HAL managed to maintain its revenue targets. Dr. D.K. Sunil, Chairman and Managing Director of HAL, attributed this success to the company’s ability to accelerate deliveries of other products and services, effectively mitigating the impact of the delays.

“This achievement was despite the shortfall in deliveries of LCA and ALH. The deliveries of LCA were affected due to non-availability of engines. The ALH delivery schedule too got hit due to the accident in January 2025 and subsequent grounding of the Fleet. However, the deliveries of other products and services were accelerated which helped us to maintain the top line,” Dr. Sunil stated.

The year 2024-25 was marked by significant growth in HAL’s order book, which surged to Rs 1,84,000 crore (approximately $22.08 Billion USD), compared to the opening position of Rs 94,129 crore (approximately $11.3 Billion USD).

This substantial increase reflects the company’s success in securing major contracts, including a landmark agreement with the Ministry of Defence for the supply of 156 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) “Prachand,” valued at Rs 62,777 crore (approximately $7.53 Billion USD). This contract represents the single largest procurement by the Ministry of Defence from HAL to date.

In addition to the LCH deal, HAL secured new manufacturing contracts worth Rs 1,02,000 crore (approximately $12.24 Billion USD) and repair and overhaul (ROH) contracts totaling Rs 17,500 crore (approximately $2.1 Billion USD). Other key contracts included the supply of 12 additional Su-30 MKI aircraft, the Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) of 40 Do-228 aircraft, the supply of 240 AL31FP engines for Su-30 MKI aircraft, and the avionics upgrade of one IL-78 aircraft. Notably, the first AL31FP engine was delivered within a month of the contract signing, showcasing HAL’s rapid response and efficiency.

Recognizing the need to meet the burgeoning demand, HAL has strategically invested in expanding its production capabilities. The company established additional production lines for the LCA and HTT-40 aircraft and augmented its aero-engine capacity at the Koraput facility. These capacity enhancements are poised to support the company’s ambitious growth trajectory and ensure timely delivery of its products.

With the stabilization of supply chain issues, a robust order book, and enhanced production capacities, the company anticipates a period of robust physical and financial performance. HAL is positioned to play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s defense capabilities and solidifying its position as a leading player in the global aerospace industry.
