Rheinmetall Acquires Stascheit GmbH: Düsseldorf, Germany – Rheinmetall, the prominent Düsseldorf-based technology corporation, has announced the acquisition of Stascheit GmbH, an ammunition detection and recovery specialist headquartered in Gardelegen, Saxony-Anhalt. The contract, finalized recently, will see Stascheit GmbH become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH, further expanding the Rheinmetall Group’s comprehensive offerings in the critical field of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD).
The integration of Stascheit GmbH is a strategic move by Rheinmetall to complete the product portfolio of its Rheinmetall Project Solutions subsidiary. By incorporating Stascheit’s specialized expertise, Rheinmetall aims to provide a more holistic and integrated suite of solutions for the detection, recovery, and disposal of explosive ordnance. The company anticipates significant financial benefits from this acquisition, projecting an annual turnover of approximately €80 million in the medium term.
The two companies are no strangers to collaboration, having successfully partnered on numerous high-stakes projects in the past. Their joint track record includes the crucial detection of unexploded ordnances in the North Sea, a service of paramount importance during maintenance operations for offshore wind farms. These underwater environments often harbor remnants of past conflicts, posing significant risks to infrastructure and personnel. Furthermore, Rheinmetall and Stascheit have collaborated on clearing munition-contaminated areas prior to the installation of subsea cables in the Baltic Sea and in Spain, demonstrating their ability to handle complex and environmentally sensitive projects.
