Rheinmetall-ICEYE team up to provide satellite imagery to Ukraine: Düsseldorf, Germany – [November 11, 2024] – Rheinmetall and ICEYE, a leading provider of SAR satellite imagery, have joined forces to deliver critical satellite intelligence to Ukraine. This collaboration, initiated in September 2024, has already led to a significant agreement between Rheinmetall and the Ukrainian government, with the support of the German government.

Under this agreement, Ukraine will receive high-resolution satellite images captured by ICEYE’s SAR satellites. These images, acquired regardless of weather conditions or time of day, will provide invaluable insights for the Ukrainian armed forces. By leveraging the power of SAR technology, the Ukrainian military will be able to enhance its surveillance, target acquisition, reconnaissance, and battlefield positioning capabilities.

ICEYE’s Constellation of 38 Satellites

ICEYE‘s extensive constellation of 38 satellites, launched since 2018, enables the provision of dedicated satellite capacity and constellation access. This ensures a continuous supply of timely and accurate satellite imagery, empowering Ukrainian forces to make informed decisions and execute effective operational plans.

Rheinmetall’s involvement in this partnership underscores its commitment to supporting Ukraine‘s defense efforts. By securing exclusive rights to market ICEYE’s SAR satellite technology in Germany and Hungary, Rheinmetall is further strengthening its position as a leading provider of advanced defense solutions.

ICEYE’s Satellite Imagery for Ukraine

ICEYE’s collaboration with Ukraine extends beyond this recent agreement. Since August 2022, ICEYE has been providing the Ukrainian government with access to its SAR satellite imagery, enabling them to monitor critical infrastructure and military operations. In July 2024, ICEYE and the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to further strengthen their partnership and advance Ukraine’s space defense capabilities.

Through this strategic alliance, Rheinmetall and ICEYE are demonstrating their dedication to supporting Ukraine’s defense needs and contributing to the ongoing efforts to ensure Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.
