Israel’s Steadicopter, India’s Lotus Team Up to Manufacture Drones in India

India’s Lotus Advance Technologies-Israel’s Steadicopter to manufacture RUVAs in India: New Delhi, January 18, 2025 – India’s Lotus Advance Technologies has joined forces with Israel’s Steadicopter to manufacture Tactical Rotary Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (RUAVs) domestically. This partnership, announced yesterday, aims to bolster India’s defense capabilities by producing advanced drones tailored to the needs of the Indian Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces.

The collaboration aligns with the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative, seeking to reduce reliance on imported defense equipment. Production will be based at Lotus‘ Uttar Pradesh facility, certified by India’s aviation authorities.

One of the key products in this partnership is the Golden Eagle HS, a heavy-lift drone developed by Steadicopter. This advanced system is designed to carry powerful Israeli-made missiles, enabling precise strikes against a range of targets, including armored vehicles and maritime vessels.

“This partnership marks a significant step forward in revolutionizing the UAV industry in India,” stated a company official. “By combining Lotus’s manufacturing expertise with Steadicopter‘s cutting-edge technology, we will deliver unmatched solutions for the Indian military.”

The RUAVs will be specifically designed to meet the unique operational requirements of the Indian military, including operations in diverse terrains and challenging weather conditions. The collaboration will focus on incorporating advanced features such as high-resolution sensors, extended flight times, and precision strike capabilities, enhancing intelligence gathering and surveillance operations for the Indian forces.
