Indian Army Infantry Day 2022 Video: Indian Army, which is the world’s second largest standing army, celebrates Infantry Day on October 27 every year to commemorate the success of Indian Infantry soldiers in driving out the Pakistani intruders from Kashmir.
The first troops of Indian Army had landed at Srinagar Airport on October 27, 1947 when the Pakistani intruders were had reached on the outskirts of Srinagar city.

Indian Army then drove out Pakistani intruders from large parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Infantry is the biggest branch of Indian Army and it is organised in 27 regiments as soldiers are recruited from all regions of the country.
Indian Army soldiers also played crucial part in defeating Pakistani Army in 1965 and 1971 wars and secured surrender of more than 90,000 Pakistani troops in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
