Defence News India: Top leadership of Indian Army has assembled to deliberate the important policy issues facing the force and chart out the future roadmap for the Indian Army. The apex level biannual event, is held in April and October every year. The conference ponders over conceptual level issues culminating in important policy decisions.
This year’s second army commander’s conference started in New Delhi on Monday and will conclude on Saturday, (October 2019).
The conference began with the address of chief of army staff, General Bipin Rawat. It will be followed by an update by the Army Commanders on their respective operational and administrative issues.

Discussions on the ongoing contemporary issues are also scheduled during over the next four days.
“The apex level leadership of Indian Army will brainstorm on current emerging security and administrative challenges and chart the future course for Indian Army,” said the ministry of defence in a statement.
“To ensure due diligence, decisions are taken through collegiate system comprising Army commanders and senior officers,” added the ministry of defence.

Defence industry to showcase its equipment
An exhibition of defence equipments, particularly showcasing the niche technology in fields of Artificial Intelligence, Drone Systems, Ammunition and Unmanned Ground Vehicles will also be held.
The focus of the exhibition will be to promote indigenization through ‘Make in India’.
