Rheinmetall delivers Marder IFVs to Ukraine: Düsseldorf, Germany (October 28, 2024) – Rheinmetall has continued its support for Ukraine’s defense efforts by delivering an additional 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) to the Ukrainian armed forces. This latest delivery brings the total number of combat vehicles supplied by Rheinmetall, both directly and through ring exchanges, to approximately 200.
The Marder 1A3 IFVs, equipped with advanced laser rangefinders for enhanced target engagement, have been refurbished and upgraded by Rheinmetall. The company initiated this effort in the spring of 2022, undertaking the repair and modernization of Marder vehicles from Bundeswehr stocks at its facilities in Unterlüß and Kassel.

Rheinmetall’s Marder Infantry Fighting Vehicle
The Marder IFV, a battle-proven system, has been in service with the German Bundeswehr for decades and has undergone several modernization upgrades. While the Puma IFV is gradually replacing the Marder in the German army, the Marder remains a highly effective combat vehicle.
